YOUNG ORATIONS Contest is open to students enrolled in any one of the following:
Registration in the contest
1. The participant must inform his /her school teacher/ coordinator in order to participate in this contest. 2. Registration in the contest has to be done through the online form provided by E&B on its website www.educationbeyond.net 3. Number of entries by a participant: a) A Participant may send a maximum of five entries in this contest. b) In this case all the entries must have a different thematic (to be selected among the themes offered by this contest). 4. The mere registration or receipt of any acknowledgement message from E&B/ or its authorized representative by any Participant(s) for the Contest will neither qualify nor guarantee the Participant(s) the chance to participate in the Contest. 5. Only such Participant(s) who completely fulfill all terms and conditions mentioned herein and as selected at the sole discretion of E&B will be eligible to participate in the Contest. |

Eligible Participants are those who are
Academic year: A student applying in the year “2020” should be enrolled in the academic year “2020-21” (between April 2020 and March 2021)”.
The following are not eligible to participate
- Only Indian citizens. (Scan of Aadhar Card/ Passport has to be uploaded in the registration form.)
- Enrolled as a student in an Indian School during the current academic year. (Scan of the Institutional Identity Card of the Participant has to be uploaded in the registration form.)
- Enrolled in any one of the following: Class 7 to 10 (of CBSE Board or its equivalent of another academic Board)
Academic year: A student applying in the year “2020” should be enrolled in the academic year “2020-21” (between April 2020 and March 2021)”.
The following are not eligible to participate
- Students who are native speakers of French/German/Spanish language.
- Students who have French/German/Spanish as their mother tongue.
- Students who come from a country where French/German/Spanish is an official language or is considered a common language of communication.
- Students who are studying in an academic institution which offers bilingual mode of instruction/teaching and have French/German/Spanish as one of the languages of the bilingual system.
- Employees of E&B, and their immediate family members.
- Immediate family members of the YO administrators, advisors, jury members or judges.
- Participants need to upload their video on YouTube and then share it with E&B through E&B’s online form.
- The “Participation Form” is accessible on E&B’s website.
- The Participants need to upload the following on the participation form:
- Link to their video on YouTube
- Scan of academic institution Identity Card of the Participant.
- Scan of the Aadhar Card/Passport
- Scan of the Parent Consent form
- The Participant/legal guardian is responsible for submitting the entry and other relevant documents before the last date/time.
- The Participant has to submit the entry through an email:
- his personal email or
- his parent’s email or
- academic institution’s teacher’s email
Entries must comply with the following format
- An “Entry” of a Participant, means a video of the Participant giving continuous live oration, in prose, in French/German/Spanish.
- The video entry should clearly show the Participant giving live oration.
- The Participants have to upload their video on Youtube and then upload the web link at the specified space in the online form provided by E&B on its website for this purpose.
- The name of the video entry should be as per the following format:
- YO followed by Name followed by the selected title/theme followed by Class enrolled in.
- For example: YO Rehana Suri My Role Model Class 8
- The video sound quality should be easily audible, without distortion and external disturbances.
- The camera should focus and cover the Participant's face and bust during the entire video.
- The submitted video entry should be continuous and without any editing.
- Elocution must be based on self composed content.
- The speaker is expected to memorize their speech, and is not allowed to read any part of the speech from papers, notes, or cards.
- Participants must not read any note during the elocution in the video.
- Participants must not read their script or a part of it during the video.
- Any Participant whose video is considered as script reading (or a part of it) by the jury members will be disqualified.
- Duration of an entry should be between 3 to 5 minutes.
- Entries disrespecting the time limit will be disqualified.
- infringes upon or otherwise violates the copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property or proprietary rights of any person or entity;
- is defamatory or constitutes an invasion of privacy;
- is unlawful;
- would reasonably cause harm or injury of any kind to any person or entity; or
- discriminates against any person or entity in any manner whatsoever.
- Entry fee is payable for each entry submitted by a participant.
- Rs. 650.00 (Six Hundred Fifty Indian rupees) for each entry in Round One.
- Rs. 650.00 (Six Hundred Fifty Indian rupees) for each entry in Round Two.
- There is no fee for the Final Round (Round Three)
- Entry fee is non-refundable.
- Entry fee is due at the time of submission of the entry.

- If you are entering more than one entry, you may pay the payment for both entries together. Please choose any of the above mentioned modes of payment.
- Refunds are not provided for disqualified, withdrawn or non-winning entries.

There will be three rounds in this contest:
- Round 1: All eligible candidates may participate
- Round 2: Participants having obtained equal to 70% or more in Round One will be eligible to participate in the Round Two of the contest.
- Round 3 (also called Final Round): 05 short listed candidates in each category and each language of Round 2 will be invited to participate in the Final Live Round where the jury will evaluate the participants directly and the result will be declared on the spot.

Originality of the entries
- The entry must be original work by the Participant. The entry should not be copied in part(s) or in its entirety from any source. In case any part of the entry is found to be copied from another source, the entry will be disqualified.
- The entry must be original, in prose, in the designated language, unpublished and unproduced, not accepted by any other publisher/organisation/website/entity at the time of submission. Any piece posted online, on a personal blog or social network is considered published.
- The entry must not have been published in any form prior to the competition.
- E&B assumes all entries are original and are the works and property of the entrant, with all rights granted therein.
- Each winning entrant is responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions for use of excerpts and quotations from third party works prior to submission. Excerpts and quotations must be properly credited according to accepted standards.
- In case it is found, during or after the contest, that an entry is not original i.e either the entire script or a part of it has been copied/ plagiarised and taken from another source and infringes on the intellectual rights of a person/organisation/entity, the entry will be disqualified.
- In case it is discovered after the award disbursal that an entry is not original then the entry/award will be disqualified. The Participant, in this case, will have to submit a written apology letter and pay a penalty of 5 Lakh INR (5,00,000) Indian rupees to the organisers of this contest (E&B).
- This penalty has to be disbursed/paid to E&B within 2 weeks of the date of formal communication in this regard from E&B to the Participant.
- The Participant, however, has the right to justify himself during the 2 weeks following E&B’s communication with the Participant in this regard.
Acceptance of terms & conditions by the entrant/participant
- On entering this contest the Participant/entrant agrees to have read all the terms and conditions related to YO mentioned on the website of E&B and agrees to abide by all of them. The entrant also agrees to follow the updates in rules which shall be announced by E&B during the contest.
- In case the entrant is a minor, his parent(s)/legal guardian has to sign the Parent Consent Form and accept the rules and regulations of this contest.

Editing an entry
- A Participant will not be able to edit the entry once it has been uploaded/ submitted to E&B.
- Once an entry has been submitted, no edits or replacements will be accepted.
- In case a Participant enters the contest with multiple entries, please excuse duplicate emails, as you may receive an email for each separate entry.
